Coverage of Electronic Data Processing Equipment (EDP).
Electronic Data Processing Equipment (EDP) generally includes all data processing equipment, including peripheral equipment, fire and air conditioning protection systems, telephone equipment, and media and data including the information stored on the media. Coverage is usually provided in two ways:
- Most coverage forms provide coverage for EDP equipment while at or within 1,000 feet of a covered premises. Covered perils include fire, wind, hail and other perils described in the coverage form.
- An Inland Marine coverage form automatically provides a separate limit per occurrence for these additional perils while at or within 1,000 feet of a covered premises or while in transit, and at a lower deductible in most cases:
- Artificially generated electrical current
- Settling, cracking, shrinking, expansion
- Nesting or infestation
- Discharge of pollutants
